CORRECTION OF PREVIOUS PROCEDURES DONE ELSEWHERE
Because of his training and experience, Dr. James H. Oestreicher, M.D., F.R.C.S. (C) may be able to improve situations which have previously been called inoperable. In some circumstances, he can improve defects evident after surgery done elsewhere.
The treatment of these issues is complex and individualized.
Not all patients can be helped. If, after a personal consultation, Dr. Oestreicher feels that further healing time is required or that reparative surgery is not in the patient's best interest, he will say so without ambiguity. Any reconstructive surgery of this type is not covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP).
Procedures Dr. Oestreicher may be able to repair or reverse include:
- Eyelids with excess scarring
- Upper eyelids which droop
- Lower lids that sag, have a "rounded" outer corner, or are pulled down with the white of the eye showing
- Inadequate blepharoplasty (residual excess skin, wrinkles or bagginess)
- Inadequate results from previous skin resurfacing
Examples of these cases are shown in before and after photographs. To view, click "Repair of surgery done elsewhere" under "Procedure".
Remember, Dr. Oestreicher would prefer to "get it right the first time" and be your initial surgeon.
Please contact our office, for a personal consultation.
