“Dr. James Oestreicher is an efficient oculoplastic surgeon and I am fortunate enough that I had an opportunity to meet him when he visited my place as a visiting faculty during ORBIS ‘flying eye hospital’ programme in 2009. During this program, we discussed a number of oculoplastic cases and I assisted him in a number of surgeries. I was so much influenced by his teaching during this short visit that I decided to learn more under his guidance.

I applied for a short-term fellowship in oculoplastic in Toronto under his supervision and he was kind enough to accept my application without hesitation. I spent three months in Toronto from April 2011 to June, 2011 and during this period I had an opportunity to examine patients with him and also to observe his surgeries. He was not only good in performing surgeries himself but also explained all the steps of different procedures in a very simplified way.

I was amazed by his teaching and it really helped me a lot. After returning home, now I am able to manage my patients in a more scientific and efficient way than before. My visit to Toronto and teaching of Dr. (swagatgrocery) Oestreicher has brought a positive impact in my professional life.  My heartfelt thanks to Dr. James Oestreicher for making this subject very interesting and palatable to me.”
