We exclusively use premium hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers with minimal cross-linking—these are the most forgiving types of fillers, known for their smooth texture and ability to integrate naturally into the skin. They are also reversible, offering added peace of mind, as they can be safely dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if needed.
Filler selection is never one-size-fits-all. Our highly experienced nurse injectors, working under the medical direction of Dr. Maleki, tailor each treatment using a variety of filler types, each with specific characteristics such as viscosity, elasticity, and duration of effect. Thicker fillers with more structural support are ideal for deeper placement—such as in the cheeks or jawline—where they offer long-lasting lift and contour. To ensure patient comfort, we begin by applying a topical numbing cream to the area being treated. Most patients find this sufficient for a virtually painless experience. This technique allows for more precise placement of filler with fewer injection points.
DERMAL FILLER RECOVERY & RESULTS
Recovery from dermal filler treatments is generally quick and straightforward. Most patients experience mild swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection sites, which typically resolves within a few days. It is recommended that patients avoid blood thinners such as aspirin, Motrin/ibuprofen, Aleve/Naprosyn, fish oil, vitamin E, and flaxseed oil for 2 weeks prior to treatment. You can return to most daily activities immediately, although it’s best to avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, and excessive sun exposure for the first 24–48 hours.
Results are often visible immediately, with continued improvement as any swelling subsides. Depending on the type of filler used and the area treated, results can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. Follow-up appointments may be recommended to assess your results and ensure optimal balance and longevity.
