Dr. Naser Owji
Dr. Naser Owji is a board-certified Ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained Oculoplastic Surgeon with more than 25 years of experience in ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery. He completed his medical degree and Ophthalmology residency at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences before completing a fellowship in Oculoplastic Surgery and Strabismus at Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran, Iran.
Dr. Owji has held numerous academic and leadership positions throughout his career, including Professor of Ophthalmology at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences and Head of the Oculoplastic and Orbit Division within the Department of Ophthalmology, a position he held for more than 20 years. He has also served as Head of the Department of Ophthalmology and as a member of the National Board of Ophthalmology in Iran.
With extensive experience in both cosmetic and reconstructive oculoplastic surgery, Dr. Owji has performed more than 30,000 oculoplastic procedures throughout his career. His surgical experience includes blepharoplasty, ptosis surgery, eyelid reconstruction, entropion and ectropion repair, lacrimal surgery, orbital surgery, periocular tumour removal and reconstruction, anophthalmic socket procedures, and orbital fracture repair.
Academic Excellence & Research
Throughout his academic career, Dr. Owji has remained actively involved in teaching, research, and surgical education. He has authored and co-authored more than 50 peer-reviewed scientific publications and has mentored medical students and ophthalmology residents throughout his career.
His research has explored a broad range of ophthalmic and oculoplastic topics, including eyelid surgery, ptosis, orbital disease, lacrimal disorders, thyroid eye disease, and periocular conditions. His academic work reflects his longstanding commitment to advancing the understanding and treatment of diseases affecting the eyes and surrounding structures.
